Nearly 60 years’ tradition of cultural, entertainment, family and integration events!
Not only did the entire elite of the Bedford City Councillors gathered at the opening ceremony in 1962, but General W. Anders, the Inspector General of the Government of the Republic of Poland in exile after 1945, performed the symbolic ribbon cutting himself. Anders heartily congratulated the fathers of that endavour calling it a great achievement – “one of the affirmations of our adamant attitude.” He remarked that “the will to remain Polish” despite recent traumas and the socialist takeover endures also in the act of opening of the Polish House on that day in Bedford.
